I smile thankfully down the tattered road. Its steps were terrible, but I took them on my own. They taught me how to travel with monsters on my shoulders, holding back my ankles, and tugging at my heartstrings. I took those monsters and made them beautiful. I'll take your monsters, and make them beautiful.

Our paths keep crossing, and they're tying in knots Can't seem to loosen them at all They wrap around me with a vengeance so strong and tear me down to earth, where you pretend to break my fall. I"ll never ever let you say I told you so. Wipe that smugly look right off of your face Hold your tongue, you've got no reason to say I told you so. I told you so. Can't stop the words from hemorrhaging out your mouth. You can't control yourself at all. And I've grown tired just from tuning you out, but I've found my motivation, and it's keeping you in awe. I'll never ever let you say I told you so Wipe that smugly look right off of your face Hold your tongue, you've got no reason to say I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. (Aaaah) Some super senses would be nice for a while, so when I see you coming 'round I could play 'possum like it's going out of style, and avoid you long enough, until you crawl back underground. I"ll never ever let you say I told you so! Wipe that smugly look right off of your face Hold your tongue, you've got no reason to say I told you so. Wipe that smugly look right off of your face Hold your tongue, you've got no reason to say I told you so. I told you so.

The walls are coming closer and she's feeling claustrophobic Containing and constraining in imaginary orbit. She tries to find a door, but it seems she didn't draw one. Removed her pens to stifle her ideas, as precaution. This isolation, meant to be protection from the real world Has left her to her thoughts a thousand questions with no answers. Should they start to lead to madness, she won't settle for that outcome. If she has to she will use her fists and feet to break the walls. She will fight, fight, fight to fix her life She will live, live, live to make her art With her heart, heart, heart, she'll make a beat, with a drum, a strum, a hum... And she will thrive, it's just a matter of time. She's gonna make it out, watch her break those walls down. Her hands and fists are bleeding, and she's struggling to keep on, but she starts to see a tiny hole, and breaks to take a peak out. The colors are so vibrant, that the contrast almost blinds her, but they give her all the hope she needs to renew the fight inside her. She will fight, fight, fight to fix her life She will live, live, live to make her art With her heart, heart, heart, she'll make a beat, with a drum, a strum, a hum... And she will thrive, it's just a matter of time. She's gonna make it out, watch her break those walls down. She'll give it all she has, oh, there's never been a better time than she has right now. Watch her break those walls down. She will fight, fight, fight to fix her life She will live, live, live to make her art With her heart, heart, heart, she'll make a beat, with a drum, a strum, a hum (she's gonna fight) (She will fight for her life, she will live for her art, with her heart she will beat, on the drums, hear the sound) And she will thrive, it's just a matter of time. She's gonna make it out, watch her break those walls down. She'll give it all she has, oh, there's never been a better time than she has right now. Watch her break those walls down. And she will thrive, it's just a matter of time. She's gonna make it out, watch her break those walls down.

You don't know what sculptures you carved. Ice and stone trap all of our hearts. You looked so comfortable hiding in human clothes yet you were responsible for making monsters. The ones who keep us up every night The ones who haunt us in our every day lives Creeping between the lines through pages of space and time rewriting our ancient rhymes. Creating monsters. (oooh) You showed me the world isn't pretty. It won't be fixed, but I will. You fooled me from the beginning. It won't be fixed, but I will. I won't let you make a monster out of me I won't let you make a monster out of me. Trust is fragile, all of mine is broken. A million pieces are scattered in the open. Blowing and spiraling, losing them to the wind, rerouting everything. Making monsters. (oooh) You showed me the world isn't pretty. It won't be fixed, but I will. You fooled me from the beginning. It won't be fixed, but I will. I won't let you make a monster out of me I won't let you make a monster out of me. And I will stand where the shadows you cast are fading Disperse the light, 'till the shadow's no longer remaining. Oh, You showed me the world isn't pretty. It won't be fixed, but I will. You fooled me from the beginning. It won't be fixed, but I will. I won't let you make a monster out of me I won't let you make a monster out of me. I won't let you make a monster out of me I won't let you make a monster out of me.

Calm down now, crazy moon. The sun is rising soon And I'll waste another day on you. I tried my best to sleep But my imagination speeds. And your words terrorize my dreams. I don't want to fix this, I can't conjure magic spells My stomach is twisting, and turning through roads in hell. Sticks and stones can break a bone But your words cut straight through my soul It's time to let this go. This verbal workout wears me down Breathe in your detrimental cloud, and sweat it out until I drown. We can't ever fix this, our love's turned so sour with hate When those two start dancing, they'll spin into fiery rage. Sticks and stones can break a bone But your words cut straight through my soul It's time to let this go. Remembering the good times won't fix this, or bring them back. When mirrors have shattered, we can't bind those shards of glass. We'd just find a new one, so shiny, with brand new parts And now that's what we need, to fix this with fresh new starts. Sticks and stones can break a bone, But your words cut straight through my soul Sticks and stones can break a bone But your words cut straight through my soul It's time to let this go.

I don't believe in anything, 'cause you changed me. And I don't believe in what you say, can you blame me? I wanna, I wanna make and take and break apart and make you eat the words that you say. It's all about me, it's all about things that I see. It's all about what you gonna say, what you gonna say to me. I don't believe in anyone, 'cause you ruined me. My contempt for falling in love has consumed me. I wanna I wanna scream and shout and bark about the hate and doubt in words that you say. It's all about me, it's all about things that I see. It's all about what you gonna say, what you gonna say to me. It's not about you, it's not about things that you do. It's all about what you gonna say. what you gonna say to me. I don't believe in the words you say to me. It's all about...It's all about.. It's all about It's all about me, it's all about things that I see. It's all about what you gonna say, what you gonna say to me. It's not about you, it's not about things that you do. It's all about what you gonna say, what you gonna say. What you gonna say, what you gonna say What you gonna say, what you gonna say to me.

And now before he says goodnight, he'll dream himself a better life. Where open windows turn to doors, and subtle hints can be ignored. He'll issue you a lock and key, dismiss your gentle brevity, and all the while his spiderwebs convince himself it's destiny. I don't wanna be, I don't wanna be the object of your affection. So stop making me, stop making me your object of obsession. And if he dies before he wakes, he'll dig his hole with your mistakes. Not stopping 'till you're at his side, to fill his void with hopeful lies. Your feet stay planted where they stand, while he ignores inner demands, and takes delusion's helping hand. You've changed his course of destiny. I don't wanna be, I don't wanna be the object of your affection. So stop making me, stop making me your object of obsession. I don't wanna be, don't wanna be STOP. So stop making me, stop making me, DON'T. I don't wanna be, don't wanna be, STOP. So stop making me, stop making me, stop making me, stop making me, don't stop! With anger as his steady guide, he'll jump into his battle blind. His weapon's made of final straws, ill crafted by his noble cause. A knight in armor he will be, with war impeding how he sees. Fighting forth to keep on dreaming in his name of destiny. I don't wanna be, I don't wanna be the object of your affection. So stop making me, stop making me your object of obsession. I don't wanna be, I don't wanna be the object of your affection. So stop making me, stop making me your object of obsession.

One, two, three somebody died. This party went from awesome, to a scene of the crime. Don't you dare act so surprised, as if this isn't what you wanted. Four, five, six, cover it up quick. Don't wanna be responsible for what you just did. Hide that body, it's a cinch! I guess it's really what you wanted. Seven, eight, nine, caught in your lies! They tied you to the scene of the crime! Behind those bars, you'll bide your time. I guess this isn't what you wanted. I guess this isn't what you wanted. I guess this isn't what you wanted. Ten.

The time is now to raise our voice Or else we throw away this choice Goodbye to our home we refuse to defend, Goodbye to our world, for now this is the end. All too soon we'll cease to be No more you, and no more me Goodbye to our home we refuse to defend, Goodbye to our world, for now this is the end. Responsibility's a bitch. It's easier to just get rich. Goodbye to our home we refuse to defend, Goodbye to our world, for now this is the end. Goodbye to our home we refuse to defend, Goodbye to our world, for now this is the end. (Ahhhh) We're killing our land we refuse to defend. We live just to buy, we consume, then we die. We're killing our land we refuse to defend. We live just to buy, we consume, then we die.

Tears and clarity will make you numb. So settle down and look what you've become. With crying eyes, at least it's nice to know your tears will glisten in the sun. Tears and clarity will make you weak. They'll steal your will to breathe, and urge to speak. With crying eyes, at least it's nice to know your tears will always be unique. Crying eyes, crying eyes, whisper softly all the words you slowly come to realize. Tears and clarity will still your mind. Ideas once ignored can now unwind. With crying eyes, at least it's nice to know your tears will keep your heart in line. Crying eyes, crying eyes, Whisper softly all the words, whisper softly all the words, whisper softly all the words you finally come to realize. Tears and clarity will save your soul. Resist the urge to stifle self control. With crying eyes, at least it's nice to know your tears are yours, and yours alone.

I'd like to take you home with me and try you on for size, which given my past history won't come as a surprise. Your melody entices me to take you for a spin. I'll play with you, all day with you, my purple violin. I'd like to toy with all your strings, while I caress your neck. Listen to your harmonies between your every breath. I'd like to hold that hourglass reposed beneath my chin. So perfectly proportionate, my purple violin. My purple violin. (Oooooh) I'd like to take you home with me and try you on for size, which given my past history won't come as a surprise. Your melody entices me to take you for a spin. I'll play with you, all day with you, my purple violin. Oh my purple violin, oh, my purple violin ooooh, my purple violin, oh, my purple violin.

Pay No Mind 02:59
Is it possible love's a coward, like me? Hiding inside her cruel diary? Where no one may know her, 'till they overthrow her, and capture her kingdom of privacy? Does she look like a heart in tangible form? Would she dance in the rain if you were the storm? If only I knew her perplex point of view, I could find all the answers that lead me to you. Please pay no mind to what I say. My thoughts are blocked by rambles who won't move out of the way. How is it that love finds herself content? Is it damaged desires, or money well spent? Or the time that she shares her illustrious glare, with the hopes to ensnare your heart's truest intent? Please pay no mind, I've lost my way. I speak as though I've never learned a thing, please ignore what I say. If I honor her gaze she may turn me to stone. So I lower my eyes, and I leave her alone. Maybe one day I'll see that it's better for me to ignore you completely and be on my own. But despite complications, I wish that temptation would heal my frustration toward love's great unknown. Please pay no mind...

This city that never sleeps She lies awake at night alone, staring at the ceiling wondering "Why so many give their lives to the greedy corporate enterprise, when they're so clearly undeserving?" Oh, oh, give 'em hell, and Oh, oh think for yourself, and Oh, oh, don't be scared of what your life may bring. You were meant for bigger, better things. Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. Pack your dreams in a suitcase, and leave those awful doubts behind. Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. It's not too late to clean your slate, so what's there to decide? Time can make you money, but money won't buy back your time. So take your life back. This city's still tossing and turning, she's still awake, as she rubs her eyes and sighs, scared now of impending morning. Dull routine, well oiled machine, be the cog this world wants you to be. Continue making others money. Oh oh, fight the good fight, and Oh oh, don't just sit tight, and Oh oh, there's more to life than profits, and cha-chings. You were meant for bigger better things. Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. Pack your dreams in a suitcase, and leave those awful doubts behind. Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. It's not too late to clean your slate, so what's there to decide? Time can make you money, but money won't buy back your time. 'Cause you are worth it. Take your life back. Oh, oh, take it away, and don't be afraid of it. Oh, oh seizing the moment is all what you make of it. Oh, oh, hit it full throttle, and don't slam the brakes on it. Oh, oh oh! Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. Pack your dreams in a suitcase, and leave those awful doubts behind. Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. It's not too late to clean your slate, so what's there to decide? Time can make you money, but money won't buy back your time. 'Cause you are worth it, you deserve it, Take your life back. This city that never sleeps She lies awake at night alone, staring at the ceiling wondering why?
